Bursa Archaeological Museum

Bursa Archeology Museum, located in Osmangazi district of Bursa, is open to visitors every day of the week between 8:00 in the morning and 17:00 in the evening. The museum, which has no entrance fee, carries the most valuable historical remains of Bursa. It was established in 1904 by the National Education Directorate of the period.

In Bursa, which is fascinating with its geography, more than 60,000 artifacts, whose historical texture has been preserved until today, are exhibited in the Bursa Archeology Museum. Stone artifacts from the Miocene period, tombs, skeletons excavated and some tools made in trade are some of the historical artifacts on display. The stone works hall in the museum includes marble and bronze sarcophagi and sculptures. These special pieces were found in the ancient city of Miletepolis. The portraits and all historical artifacts in the hall are arranged in chronological order. Metal artifacts, seals, ornaments, toys and medical instruments are among the rarest artifacts exhibited in the hall. Another interesting find of the museum is the remains of cars dating back to the 6th century BC. This special find, which was used as a chariot of that period, was found at the entrance of the burial chamber with wheel parts and equipment for tying horses.
