The works in the museum generally belong to the 5000-6500-year period between the Chalcolithic period and the Ottoman period. The museum, which was first established in a classroom of Zafer Primary School in 1959, became a real museum in 1973. Aydin Archaeological Museum is divided into 3 separate sections. Archeology section, money section and ethnography objects sections can be visited separately. Different artifacts from the Roman, Seljuk and Ottoman periods can be closely examined in the museum.

Aydin Archaeological Museum, which is located in Efeler district of Aydın and can be entered with a museum card, is one of the most frequented addresses of people who come to the city. It may be necessary to spend a few hours to visit this museum, which is spread over a wide area of ​​15 acres. It accepts its visitors between 08:30 and 17:00 on weekdays and weekends. At the same time, museum card holders can enter Aydin Archaeological Museum free of charge twice a year.
